Moving your existing data from files such as Excel or CSV into a new system, so work starts with your records instead of a blank page.
Import is the bridge between the old way and the new. The system reads the file row by row and maps each column to a field: 'customer name' to the name field, 'mobile' to the phone field, then creates a record for every row. The hard part is not the transfer itself but how clean the data is: dates in different formats, duplicate names with different spellings, numbers stored as text.
A new system without the old data is one nobody uses, because staff go back to the file where their customers are. A successful import on day one is what makes the switch real. With Excel to App you upload an Excel or CSV file, its columns and types are understood, and your rows are in the system from the first moment. Practical tip: try first on a copy of the file with fifty rows. Review the result row by row and correct the source, then import the full file. Keep the original file untouched, and stop editing it after the switch.
