The templates

Eight templates, each with a suggested place for its data

For each template we state what it does today, who it suits and what hardware and permissions it needs. Anything not on the list is one sentence away.

Restaurant POS & invoicing

Orders, receipts, products, sales reports

A sales screen where you tap products, an open order that totals and taxes itself as you go, a receipt that prints, and a report of today’s sales. Designed for the person behind the counter: big targets, keyboard shortcuts, no extra steps.

What the template does

  • Products and categories you add and price
  • A new order with its total and tax, with quantity changes and line removal
  • A printable receipt
  • Saved invoices and sales reports

Good for

Café or restaurantKiosk or food truckSmall shop

Suggested data location

Local for one till, Fanann Cloud for more than one

One till that must keep selling when the internet drops: Local. Two or more tills that must see the same orders: Cloud.

Requirements and notes

  • Switch on the Printing ability, and install your receipt printer in Windows first
  • No built-in link to card terminals: the payment method is recorded by hand

A request to start from

A point of sale for a café with two tills: tap products to build an order, print the receipt, and see today’s sales.

Retail inventory

Products, barcodes, movements, reports

A product list with codes and quantities, a field where a scanned barcode opens the item, stock adjustments that leave a history behind them, and reports that show where your stock stands.

What the template does

  • Products with their codes and quantities
  • Barcode input by scanning or typing
  • Stock adjustments with a history of every movement
  • Stock reports

Good for

Retail shopSmall warehousePharmacy or bookshop

Suggested data location

Fanann Cloud when more than one person works on it

If several employees record movements from different PCs they must see the same quantity. For one stock room on one PC, Local is enough.

Requirements and notes

  • A barcode scanner that types like a keyboard (most USB scanners do)
  • If you ask for reports exported to a file, switch on the Files ability

A request to start from

Inventory software for a shop: products with barcodes, receiving, selling and adjusting quantities, a low-stock alert and a monthly report.

Standalone invoice maker

Customers, line items, saved invoices, print or save as PDF

Invoicing for one person or a small office: pick the customer, add the line items, the total and tax are worked out, then print the invoice or save it as a PDF from the Windows print dialog. Every invoice stays saved.

What the template does

  • A customer list with their details
  • Line items with quantity, price and tax
  • Saved invoices you can come back to
  • A4 printing or saving as PDF

Good for

Freelancer or designerWorkshop or service officeA shop that issues quotations

Suggested data location

On this computer

A tool for one person on one PC that needs no internet. Keep regular backups.

Requirements and notes

  • Switch on Printing: printing and saving as PDF both go through the Windows print dialog
  • Official e-invoicing has country-specific rules: check yours before relying on it

A request to start from

An invoice maker for a design studio: customers, line items with 15% tax, automatic numbering, and A4 printing or saving as PDF.

Offline expense tracker

Categories, receipts, monthly reports, export

Record each expense with its category, amount and date, keep its receipt with it, and see at the end of the month where the money went. It all runs on your PC, with no cloud account for the data.

What the template does

  • Expenses in categories you can edit
  • A receipt kept with each expense
  • A monthly report by category
  • Export to a file for your accountant

Good for

Personal or household spendingA freelancer tracking business costsA small petty-cash float

Suggested data location

On this computer

Private data for one user; there is no reason for a cloud database.

Requirements and notes

  • Switch on Files for receipts and export
  • Switch on Backup and keep a copy off the PC

A request to start from

An expense tracker that works offline: categories, receipt attachments, a monthly report and an export for my accountant.

Salon / clinic front desk

Appointments, staff schedule, customer notes

An appointment calendar for the front desk: book, move and cancel, see each staff member’s schedule, and keep a note on the customer. The sample data in the template is generic and holds no medical records.

What the template does

  • A day board of appointments with a column per staff member
  • Book, move and cancel from one screen
  • A customer list with notes
  • Staff schedules and working hours

Good for

Salon or beauty centreDental or physiotherapy clinicTraining centre

Suggested data location

Fanann Cloud for a team

The front desk and the staff need to see the same schedule from more than one PC. For a one-PC office, Local is enough.

Requirements and notes

  • It is not a certified medical system: do not store sensitive health data without checking your local rules
  • If you ask for appointment reminders on the PC, switch on Notifications

A request to start from

A front-desk app for a salon: an appointment calendar for three stylists, no double bookings, and a note on each customer.

Employee attendance

Employee codes, check-in, reports

Each employee checks in and out with a code and PIN on the office PC; the manager sees attendance reports for every employee.

What the template does

  • A code and a PIN for each employee
  • Check-in and check-out from the keyboard
  • A record of every check-in and check-out
  • Attendance reports

Good for

Office or workshopA shop with several shiftsSchool or centre

Suggested data location

Fanann Cloud for central management

The manager needs to see everyone’s attendance from their own PC while staff check in on other PCs or in other branches.

Requirements and notes

  • It does not connect to fingerprint devices: check-in happens on the PC
  • If you ask for reports exported to a file, switch on the Files ability

A request to start from

Attendance software for an office of 12: one-click check-in, and a monthly report of hours and lateness I can export for payroll.

Warehouse labels

Import and export, label templates, print jobs

Import your item list from a file, pick a label template, and send the print job.

What the template does

  • Import items from a file and export them
  • Label templates to choose from
  • A print job for the labels you selected

Good for

Warehouse or stock roomA shop pricing its shelvesShipping and delivery

Suggested data location

On this computer, unless you need shared stock

A printing tool on the PC that is connected to the printer. If the item list must be shared between several PCs, choose Cloud.

Requirements and notes

  • A label printer installed in Windows with the right paper size
  • Print one test label and scan it with your own scanner before a full batch

A request to start from

A label tool for a warehouse: import items from a file, pick a barcode label template, and print a batch with a copy count per item.

Personal file organizer

Folders and tags, search and filters, bulk actions

Add your important files, arrange them in folders and tags, then search them and act on several at once. The operations are safe by design: the app keeps a copy and never touches your original file.

What the template does

  • Adding files through the Windows Open dialog
  • Search and filters that narrow the list
  • A recycle bin with restore, and duplicate detection
  • Moving, tagging and binning in bulk

Good for

Your important documents in one placeScattered photos and documentsArchiving project files

Suggested data location

On this computer

It keeps the copies of your files on your own PC; nothing about it needs the cloud.

Requirements and notes

  • Switch on the Files ability: the app reaches only what you choose in the Windows dialog
  • Each file up to 10 MB; switch on Backup and keep a copy off the PC

A request to start from

A vault for my documents: add files, arrange them in folders and tags, search and filter by type, then move and tag in bulk.

The thumbnails are coded illustrations, not screenshots. You try the real template in the interactive preview inside the studio.

From template to your software

How a template becomes your software in four steps

  1. 1

    Pick the template

Open the template in the studio. It comes with sample data so you can try every screen before changing anything.

  2. 2

    Change it in plain words

Ask for what is specific to you: fields, screens, a different tax rate, your logo and colours. Or click an element in the preview and edit it.

  3. 3

    Confirm the data location

The template suggests one and you confirm it: on this computer, or Fanann Cloud if more than one PC will work on the same records.

  4. 4

    Build and download

Switch on the abilities it needs (printing, files…), build the installer, install it on a Windows PC and try it with real work.

What to know before you choose

Windows 10 and 11, 64-bitNo Mac or Linux builds, and none for ARM or 32-bit systems. It does not run on phones.
No automatic updates yetA new version is a new installer you download and install over the old one. There is no MSI package.
Local does not syncIn Local mode each PC has its own data and nothing syncs between them. Fanann cannot recover local data from a damaged PC: keep backups.
A preview is not proofThe browser preview is interactive for the interface only. A build stays “Built” until it is really installed and started on a Windows machine, when it becomes “Tested on Windows”.
HardwarePrinting goes through the printers installed in Windows, and a barcode scanner must type like a keyboard. Not every device is guaranteed: test on yours.
FAQ

Questions about the Windows app templates

Are the templates working apps or pictures?
Working apps: each template is an application with sample data, screens and logic. You open it in the studio, try it in the interactive preview and change it by chat. The thumbnails on this page are illustrations of what the screen looks like.
Can I change a template?
Yes, that is the point. Ask in plain words: “add a table-number field”, “change the tax to 5%”, “add a suppliers screen”. Or click the element in the preview and change it with the visual editor. A template is a starting point, not a locked product.
Can I change the suggested data location?
Yes. The suggestion is a recommendation based on how the template is usually used, and you confirm the choice before the first build. The rule is simple: if more than one installed copy must see the same records, choose Fanann Cloud; otherwise Local is simpler and works offline. The decision guide.
Do the templates work with my printer and barcode scanner?
Printing goes through the printers installed in Windows, so if your printer prints from other Windows programs it will most likely print from your app. A barcode scanner must type the code like a keyboard. We do not guarantee every device: build the app and test it on your own hardware before you rely on it.
Are the templates available on every plan?
Which templates and how much of Windows Studio you get depends on your subscription, and some templates may require a minimum plan. The pricing page explains how it is charged, and inside the app you see what your account can use before you start.
None of the templates fits my business. What now?
Start from a description instead of a template. Write what the software does, who uses it and what it prints, and Fanann builds it from scratch. The steps, with a worked example.
